TWELVE men accused of killing Josie Dwyer in Dublin in May 1996 were again remanded to allow their solicitors to read their books of evidence.

Mr Martin Glynn (43), Mr John Kenny (37), Mr Stephen Carney (24), Mr Mark Cooke (22), Mr Hugh Byrne and Mr Christopher O'Shea (46), all with addresses in Dolphin House, Rialto, as well as Mr John Fitzpatrick (23) and Mr Andrew Kelly (33) of Fatima Mansions, Dublin, Mr William Kenny (52) of St Anthony's Road, Rialto, Mr Bernard Dempsey (38) of Marrowbone Lane Flats, Dublin, Mr Mark Alford (37) of Seagull House, Crumlin, and Mr Ronald Byrne (37) of Lower Drumcondra Road, Dublin, all appeared in Kilmainham District Court.

They were charged with the unlawful killing of Joseph Dwyer, assault occasioning actual bodily harm to Mr Alan Byrne and violent disorder at Basin Lane on May 14th, 1996.

Mr Bobby Eager, solicitor, said that the books of evidence were almost 1,000 pages long.
