£17,000 award for finger injury

A five year old boy who lost the tip of his right little finger when a door slammed on it has been awarded £17,000 in the Circuit Civil Court against Dublin Corporation. Ms Sara Moorhead, counsel for Darren Carter, of Balbutcher Lane, Ballymun, said the boy, when two years old, was walking behind his mother in the flats complex when a swing door they had passed through slammed on his finger.
