Police in Northern Ireland have today frozen assets worth almost £1 million as part of as an operation against organised crime.
"Detectives have served a restraining order on two people in Derry, freezing assets totalling £950,000 ," a police spokesman said.
"The assets include 12 houses, a taxi firm, a mobile shop, three bank accounts, 17,000 pounds in cash and two vehicles."
Around 80,000 contraband and counterfeit cigarettes were also seized during a joint police and customs search, the spokesman said. No arrests were made.
