Jammu - Muslim militants yesterday massacred 25 Hindu wedding guests in an ambush in the Indian state of Kashmir, injuring five others, police said. The shootings took place at Champnagri town, 225 km north of Jammu.

A police spokesman said the victims, who included the bridegroom, had been travelling to the wedding by bus when the guerrillas struck. Kashmir's chief minister, Mr Farooq Abdullah, said the murders were part of a "proxy war" Pakistan.
