Three thousand people attended a prayer service in Dungannon to remember the dead and injured of the Omagh atrocity

Three thousand people attended a prayer service in Dungannon to remember the dead and injured of the Omagh atrocity. The four main church leaders in the area led prayers and hymns, with music provided by Dungannon Silver Band.

The Rev Derek Swann said people throughout Ireland were reflecting as one on the atrocity which had visited Omagh a week earlier. "In this simple service, we have come to reflect on the enormity of the latest terrorist atrocity to affect the people of this troubled land," he added. "We have come to remember the people of Omagh, whose community has been shattered by the carnage and violence in their midst."
