Gardaí investigating a brutal assault which left a student in Cork on a life support machine have arrested three people in relation to the incident.
The three, two men and a woman, were arrested in Douglas and South Cork this morning.
Mr Denis Franklin, from Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, remains in a critical but stable condition in Cork University Hospital after he was set upon by men at the Grand Parade in Cork last Sunday morning.
Mr Franklin was kicked and beaten until he lost consciousness before being left in an alleyway.
