London - A bottle of 17th century Madeira, found at a London building site, has been declared "quite drinkable" despite being what some experts believe is the oldest wine anyone has ever tasted. It was one of two bottles found by archaeologists working for the Museum of London at a building site in Spitalfields. The cork in one bottle had perished, but a small amount of the Madeira - a common wine in the days of King Charles II - was removed from the other with a syringe. Chemists then tested it for poison before it was offered to the tasters.
