London - A woman whose dyslexia was not diagnosed by educational psychologists when she attended school was awarded £45,650 at the High Court in London yesterday, reports Rachel Donnelly.

Ms Pamela Phelps, who was represented in court by Ms Cherie Booth QC, who is married to the Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, won the compensation after the judge, Mr Justice Garland, ruled that Ms Diane Melling, an educational psychologist employed by Hillingdon Borough Council, failed "to exercise the degree of care and skill to be expected of an ordinarily competent member of her profession".
