A DRUG user who was jailed for five years in 1984 for dealing has been given a 61/2 year sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for a repeat offence. Paul Gallagher (35), a father of two, of Avondale House, Dublin had rented a premises on North Circular Road under a false name. He admitted having heroin for supply there on May 6th, 1994.
Garda Seamus Boland of the North Central Division Drug Unit said a Garda raid uncovered heroin and drug dealing equipment worth £2,000.
Mr Garnet Orange, defending, said both Gallagher and his wife were addicts and were anxious for full time treatment.
Judge Cyril Kelly said it was a repeat offence and that Gallagher could avail of a custodial regime for treatment which the court understood was now available.
