7-day licence for Shelbourne Park

A seven-day drinks licence has been granted to the owners of Shelbourne Park greyhound stadium

A seven-day drinks licence has been granted to the owners of Shelbourne Park greyhound stadium. Judge Liam Devally heard in the Circuit Civil Court the stadium now had an a la carte and two fast food restaurants as well as two bars and drinks facilities in all its corporate entertainment suites.

Ms Carol O'Kennedy, for the stadium, said under an existing licence drinks were restricted to two half hour periods three nights a week. The only facility missing was a seven day pub licence.

On behalf of stadium general manager, Mr Noel Hynes, Ms O'Kennedy sought and was granted a full public house licence for the new £4 million development. The court extinguished a licence attaching to a closed down pub in the area.

Mr Hynes said the new licence would now allow Shelbourne Park Stadium Ltd, a subsidiary of Bord na gCon, to provide drinks facilities on a seven day basis rather than the existing restricted openings.
