A FORMER senior associate with a Dublin-based solicitors firm was awarded €90,000 by the Employment Appeals Tribunal for unfair dismissal, writes .
Jill Crowley, Lissenfield, Rathmines, Dublin, claimed Eversheds O’Donnell Sweeney had not given her a fair chance to keep a position. The tribunal heard how the firm, which operated a large property department, had been affected by the property crash.
The number of senior associates working in property was reduced from five to three. Interviews were held, following which Ms Crowley was made redundant. The tribunal noted “historical difficulties” had been written into her interview adjudication form under the heading of “client skills”. It found that since she was not given a chance to respond to this claim, the interview process was unfair.
