NOTHING beats a Big Breakfast after a night on the town, especially when it's served up by pop singer and television personality Dannii Minogue. The attractive Australian star is currently, presenting the "Eggs On Legs slot for Channel 4's The Big Breakfast and she landed in Dun Laoghaire harbour this week with her full outside broadcast crew which includes co presenter Richard Orford and a strange ovoid creature named, ahem, Barry Egg White.
Big Breakfast presenters Zig and Zag watched from the studio as Ms Minogue introduced Irish pop sensations O.T.T. to the assembled crowd of teenage early risers, and British television viewers got their first look at the five Dublin lads who are out to move in on Boyzone. Right now they're at number three in the Irish charts with All Out Of Love (a cover, of course), and judging from the over the top reaction in Dun Laoghaire, they're well on their way to the top.
Stealing a few moments with delectable Dannii after the show, she told me that her first broadcast from Dublin was easily Number One. "It was the best one ever the best weather, the best bands, and the best crowd," she said.
Just like her sister Kylie, Dannii Minogue started out in Australian drama, and she even starred in Home And Away, the rival soap to Kylie's Neighbours. Although her pop career hasn't quite reached the dizzy peaks of her elder sister, Dannii has still had three Top Ten hits, and she plans to resume her pop career as soon as "Eggs On Legs" finishes at the end of the month.
"It's been a while since I've released anything, but I've just signed to the Eternal label and I'll have a new single out at the end of September," she said.
