AA report gets icy reception

An AA Roadwatch report on RTE radio yesterday morning mistakenly advised motorists to divert from the N11 at Kilmacanogue, near Glen of the Downs in Co Wicklow, because it said a car crash was blocking the road. However, according to a spokesman for the Garda Press Office, there was no crash. Mr Conor Faughnan of AA Roadwatch said some cars had spun off the road due to icy conditions and were in a ditch but were not, as had been thought, blocking the road.
