The chief executive of the International Adoption Association has pointed out that all adoptions from Vietnam are safe and secure, and that this has been confirmed by the chairman of the Adoption Board, writes

Shane Downer said yesterday: “Until the Minister for Children concludes a new bilateral agreement with Vietnam, future adoptions from Vietnam will be treated in exactly the same manner as adoptions from other countries which Ireland does not have a bilateral agreement with – in essence, applications reviewed on a case-by-case basis.”
