Maputo - Five African leaders with armies embroiled in the Democratic Republic of Congo war ended talks here with an agreement to pull their troops back at least nine miles from the front lines in the latest clashes.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame offered to pull his forces back 120 miles, President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa said.
