The general secretary of the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors, Mr George Maybury, has rejected suggestions that the AGSI is opposed to equal pay for civil servants doing similar work to gardai at Garda stations.
However, he said, putting civilians in Garda stations was a separate issue to which AGSI was opposed in principle.
