AB Airlines, which operates three services daily from Shannon to London-Gatwick and daily services to London-Stansted and to Birmingham, warned yesterday that it "may have to look very carefully" at its future at Shannon and the 65 staff there. This follows the announcement last Monday that Virgin Express is to operate twice-daily services between Shannon and Stansted from December 18th.

Two AB executives are to meet the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mrs O'Rourke tomorrow. It was said o n their behalf that they would tell the Minister that their "entire Shannon investment of several million pounds has been undermined" by what they call "the decision of the Brussels-based Virgin Express franchise to introduce services on the Shannon-Stansted route."
