LONDON - A former Metropolitan Police officer told yesterday of "incredible security lapses" she had witnessed at New York's Kennedy airport. Yet when she complained in writing to the airport's security head, she did not even receive a reply. "Security at the airport is very lax, if my experience is anything to go by", said Ms Janet Thompson of Crouch End, north London.
