Al-Qaeda suspect Mr Abbas Boutrab was again remanded in custody by Belfast magistrate's court yesterday on terrorist charges

Al-Qaeda suspect Mr Abbas Boutrab was again remanded in custody by Belfast magistrate's court yesterday on terrorist charges. The 25-year-old Algerian was arrested last month while being held as an illegal immigrant at Maghaberry prison. Police found documents and computer disks alleged to contain terrorist-related information at his Newtownabbey home.

He faces three charges under the Terrorism Act 2000 concerning the possession of information on the use of explosives, and the possession of disks and documents related to terrorism.

He appeared in court by video link from the prison and was remanded until January 12th.
