London - The British Prime Minister, Mr Blair, yesterday hailed the transatlantic alliance on trade and defence in a speech to a joint session of the Canadian Parliament.
"There are those in my country who say it is not possible to be all these things. You can have Europe, or you can have North America, but you can't have both. Britain has to choose.
"It is an article of my political faith that I refuse point blank to do so. We will have the best of both worlds. We will give up neither relationship."
