MISSION Impossible, a film that is in a slightly different financial zone it took in $74 million in its first week in America got its first screening in Ireland this week.
Press screenings in Dublin usually happen very early in the morning, with film critics emerging blinking from darkened cinemas into broad daylight (which just might account for some cranky film reviews). Mission Impossible, starring Tom Cruise, is such an enormous hit in the US that the distributors took over Savoy One and held an evening screening. The film will open in Ireland on July 5th.
Expect to hear the Mission Impossible theme tune all summer and smarty pants answering machine messages that include the line "this tape will self destruct in 30 seconds".
