London - A mother-of-two returned from holiday to discover bailiffs had seized her car and sold it to recover a £30 unpaid parking fine. Ms Helena Prinse (32) of Barnes in southwest London, was in Australia when her special edition Range Rover - with a personalised number plate and £700 CD player - was taken from outside her home.

The car, worth £12,000, was sold without a reserve price at auction for £8,100. After auctioneer and bailiffs fees Ms Prinse expects to receive £7,100.
