Gardaí in Limerick have made a nationwide appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of a Co Limerick woman who is missing for over three weeks.

Theresa Warren from Caherconlish, Co Limerick, was last seen leaving a friend's house in the early hours of December 8th.

The 29-year-old left the house on Greenhills Road, Garryowen, at about 2am and was spotted on CCTV footage a short time later passing the nearby greyhound track.

Gardaí believe she continued in the direction of St John's Hospital where she was last seen at about 2.30am, also on CCTV footage taken from the area.

The footage of Ms Warren's last known movements was aired on television news bulletins last night in case the missing woman is now in another part of the country.

"We are making this nationwide appeal for help just in the event that she may be in other parts of the country or in case anybody remembers seeing her on the night or since then," said Sgt Séamus O'Neill, Henry Street Garda station, Limerick.

"According to her friends she was in good form the night she went missing and nobody noticed anything unusual about her on the night except that she left the house she was in quickly," he added.

When last seen Ms Warren was wearing dark blue jeans, a multi-coloured jumper, a small green jacket, and white runners. She is five foot seven inches in height, of medium build and has black wavy hair tinged with red.

Since her disappearance, searches have taken place across Limerick, involving gardaí, friends and family and members of the Marine Search and Rescue unit in Limerick.

"Her family are very concerned and worried at this stage. They are holding out hope though and we would urge anybody with information to contact the family or the gardaí at Henry Street on (061) 212400," said Sgt O'Neill.
