Almost every family in the country was being affected by the “stubbornly high” cost of motor fuel, AA Ireland’s Conor Faughnan has said.

AA Ireland’s monthly index of prices yesterday showed an increase of 2.6 cent in petrol prices during April, leading to a record high average price of 153.3 cent a litre.
