London - An architects' firm which has worked on the National Gallery and Hampton Court has been given the job of rebuilding the church destroyed in the IRA's Bishopsgate bomb. St Ethelburga's, the City of London's oldest and smallest church, was left in tatters after a lorry bomb exploded at 10.25 a.m. on Saturday, April 24th, 1993, killing one person. The architects, Purcell Miller Tritton, have been given the task of converting the site into a centre for reconciliation and peace. It is hoped the centre will contain a small church, a memorial garden to City bomb victims and offices for staff offering practical support and counselling to people caught up in terrorism and conflict. - (PA)
