Telecommunications firm Aruba Networks is to create 40 jobs in Cork over the next four years.
The company is establishing its international headquarters and shared services centre for all regions outside the Americas in the city.
The move is supported by the Government through IDA Ireland.
Today's announcement was made by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, while on a visit to Aruba's head quarters in Sunnyvale, California.
The Nasdaq-listed firm, which employs over 500 people, is a provider of next-generation network access solutions. Founded in 2002 it went public in March 2007.
The Cork-based centre will have responsibility for shared services, supply chain management, inside sales and customer support.
Dominic Orr, Aruba's president and chief executive said the company had chosen Ireland as a centre from which to expand into Europe. He added that the country's high number of ICT firms, its talented workforce and the "highly-efficient corporate tax structure," had influenced the firm's decision to base itself in the Republic.
