The alleged incident of indecent assault by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in South Africa has been dropped, according to BBConline.

"We feel our time and everybody else's has been wasted," said Sipho Ngwema, a spokesman for the National Director of Public Prosecutions.

"There are no grounds for prosecution."

Nadia Abrahams, a 21-year-old South African woman, accused Ferguson of indecently assaulting her in her car as they returned from a local jazz club on Friday.

Ferguson strongly denied the claims which came about while he was visiting South Africa on club business.
