Saturday, August 28th, has been chosen as the date for the 1999 Slane Castle concert. Concert promoter Mr Eamon McCann and the castle's owner, Lord Mount Charles, informed Meath County Council of the date although no act or performer has yet been announced.
Under planning permission granted by the council last year, covering concerts until 2008, the open air event can be held any Saturday in June, July or August provided the council is informed of the date by the end of the previous year. Meath County Council was told the date on New Year's Eve.
