Bad weather last night and this morning has caused the cancellation of two ferries from Dublin.
The Seacat, which was due to depart from Dublin to Liverpool at 1.15 a.m., was cancelled due to bad weather. A spokeswoman for Seacat said the company expected tomorrow's 1.15 a.m. service to depart as normal.
Irish Ferries was also forced to cancel its 6.50 a.m. Dublin to Holyhead (Dublin Swift) service and is waiting on weather reports to confirm if the 12.15 p.m. service can depart as normal.
This morning Met Éireann issued a gale warning stating that northwest winds will reach gale force at times today on Irish coastal waters from Slyne Head to Malin Head to Howth Head and on the Irish Sea.
