Seve Ballesteros, 44, is to scale down his tournament appearances unless his form improves next year, the five-time major winner said today.
"If I play the way I have played this year, I will start to reduce the number of tournaments I compete in," he said.
"If I see a sign of improvement, I will continue on the European Tour but it's not easy to be positive and to know which way I want to go.
"Mentally I feel quite negative. I have had so many bad tournaments I have lost my confidence."
