Bank of Scotland (Ireland) has announced today it is to rebrand its retail banking business to Halifax.

Bank of Scotland (Ireland) has announced today it is to rebrand its retail banking business to Halifax.

The bank is part of the HBOS group and says the Halifax is one of the most recognised retail banking brands in Europe, with 22 million customers.

Bank of Scotland (Ireland) said today the Halifax brand in Ireland will include the retail branch network; personal banking products and customer services. Other banking businesses will be unaffected by this change.

The bank claims it is on target to attract 40,000 new customers at the end of its first year.
