Paris - Beaujolais Nouveau is not a great wine, according to a consensus of Parisians shortly after tasting this year's first bottle of the wine from the south-easterly wine region.
The tabloid Le Parisien newspaper said the 2000 vintage tasted "like blackberries and blackcurrants".
"At least it's better than in the past when it tasted like English candy," Le Parisien quoted one of its readers as saying.
