Beef Or Salmon is likely to make his seasonal reappearance in the Munster National at Limerick next month. Trainer Michael Hourigan is eyeing a crack at the three-mile race on October 10th for his eight-year-old, who is the highest-rated chaser in Ireland.
He told the Racing Post: "He's in tremendous form and if the weather was kind to us over the coming weeks he's tempting me to run him in the Limerick race.
"I'm a great believer that, while horses have to gallop, if you can race and possibly get paid for it as well it's a nice bonus."
Beef Or Salmon finished fourth behind Best Mate in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last season after suffering with back problems but Hourigan reports that he has not had any trouble so far.
He added: "He is 100 per cent now and has shown no signs of any recurring problems. Fingers crossed, he's over all that now and we're looking forward to another season."
