While Tommy Walsh is destined for a new life in the AFL with St Kilda, Colm Begley will be heading in the opposite direction after ending his association with the Melbourne club.
After four yeas in the Australian code, the Laois man has called time on his AFL career. He follows Martin Clarke and Kevin Dyas, who both returned home in recent weeks.
Begley joined St Kilda at the start of last season but played just once as the Saints reached the Grand Final.
He had previously spent three years with the Brisbane Lions, making 29 appearances before being delisted at the end of the 2008 campaign.
