Boxing: Belfast fighter Damaen Kelly has been granted another shot at the European bantamweight title following his controversial defeat to Simone Maludrottu last month.
Kelly, 33, was beaten by the Italian on April 21st in Belfast, with a unanimous points decision going against him.
However the European Boxing Union have informed Kelly's manager Tommy Gilmour that another title fight will be coming his way.
Maludrottu will be allowed one further defence of his title, and the winner of that bout will be obliged to face Kelly within 90 days.
Gilmour said: "Everyone who was there knows that Kelly was robbed of victory and he should have been given an immediate rematch rather than having to wait to near the end of the year to get another chance at the title.
"It does make you wonder what you have to do to get an immediate rematch because this was one of the worst decisions ever seen in a British ring.
"But I suppose we have to be happy that Damaen will get another chance and I give credit to (general secretary) Simon Block of the British Boxing Board of Control who worked very hard on our behalf."
