A new radio station aimed primarily at listeners aged 45 and over started broadcasting in Belfast this morning.
U105 began broadcasting on the FM band in the city from 6am and on the Freeview digital television platform across the North.
The station is owned by Ulster Television, which has built up a portfolio of stations in Ireland and Britain.
The TV company, which also owns Q102 in Dublin and 96FM in Cork, saw off 10 other contenders for the licence in March when the regulator Ofcom awarded the 12-year licence.
