An air link between Donegal and Scotland was inaugurated on Saturday when the first weekly flight by a 66 seater jet from Prestwick landed at Donegal airport.

Operated by Gill Airways of Belfast City Airport it will provide a service between the north west Ireland and Scottish cities including Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Dundee. Special cheap train fares are available to passengers using the air service. There is a train service to Glasgow every half hour. The return air fare is £90 plus taxes.
