Dennis Bergkamp is ready to extend his stay at Highbury beyond the end of the season.

The Arsenal striker will be 34 in May but believes he is in good enough shape to carry on playing.

"What better is there to do than play football? The most important thing is that you are physically well and I feel great," he said today.

"I've always lived to play football and it helps if you take care of your body throughout your whole career".

Bergkamp, a £7.5 million sterling purchase from Inter Milan in 1995, said: "I played at Ajax professionally for seven years so I've been here longer. It feels more like home".
