United Nations - The Peruvian President, Mr Alberto Fujimori, yesterday started a special UN General Assembly session on population that is still far from agreement on contraceptives, sex education and parental rights.

While he opens the three-day debate among 170 countries in the assembly, a preparatory group is struggling to complete an updated action programme. It will continue work in parallel with the three-day assembly session in an effort to present a document by tomorrow.
