Labour has a 24-point opinion poll lead over the Tories among Britain's Asian community, according to a new survey.

Labour has a 24-point opinion poll lead over the Tories among Britain's Asian community, according to a new survey.

The poll, described as the most comprehensive survey of Asian voters, put Labour on 39 per cent, the Tories on 15 per cent and the Liberal Democrats on 1 per cent.

Some 28 per cent were undecided, while 10 per cent were not planning to vote, according to the survey commissioned by the Asian Marketing Group.

Mr Blair also commanded overwhelming confidence amongst Asians as party leader, with 59 per cent backing him compared with just 7 per cent for Mr Hague and 3 per cent for Liberal Democrat Mr Charles Kennedy.
