The British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, has agreed to meet the family of Mr Robert Hamill, who was kicked to death in a sectarian attack in Portadown in 1997, to discuss their request for a judicial inquiry into the circumstances of his death.
Mr Blair confirmed the decision in a letter to the Labour MP, Mr Jeremy Corbyn, on September 11th. The meeting is expected to take place next month after the family meets the Northern Ireland Secretary, Mr Peter Mandelson, on October 2nd in Belfast to press their case.
