A last-minute equaliser by Bohemians striker Tony Grant wasted a fine team performance by Waterford United.

Grant's goal in the 90 thminute ended the match in a 1-1 draw.

The Blues were hoping for a more convincing performance heading into this weekend's cup final against Longford in Landsdowne Road.

Waterford gained an early edge when striker Darryl Murphy scored his 21 stgoal of the season in the 16 thminute on a pass from Kevin O'Brien.

Murphy, the eircom/Soccer Writer's Association Player of the Month for September, turned in an inspired first-half performance.

Bohs did not register their first chance until the 37 thminute.

Bobby Ryan's free kick from the right created a chance, but midfielder Glen Crowe's chance to equalise was sent wide.

Crowe had a second chance stolen from him early in the second half.
