Fifteen people were hurt in a bomb attack in a popular Turkish resort today, but it was not immediately clear who was behind the blast, police said.
The explosion was in a waste bin outside a bank in Cesme, a major tourist centre on the Aegean Sea, the state-run Anatoliannews agency said.
"It's been determined that it was a bomb," a police officer in Cesme told Reuters by telephone.
"Fifteen people were hurt in the explosion. They are being treated at a local hospital. Their injuries are not serious," the officer said.
Bomb experts were investigating at the scene of the blast, and police have sealed off the area, Anatoliansaid.
A Kurdish separatist group claimed responsibility in April for a bombing in Kusadasi, another Aegean Sea resort centre. One police officer died in that attack.
Islamic militants and far-left militants have also been behind bomb attacks in Turkey in the past.
