Bohemians 1 The New Saints 0:Bohemians will take a one goal lead back to Wales after Killian Brennan's strike secured a home win in their Champions League qualifier first round match against TNS at Dalymount Park.

Brennan converted in the 65th minute after young striker Paddy Madden supplied a lovely throughball.

Madden went close twice in the last few minutes but was narrowly wide on both occasions.Nevertheless, the clean sheet may prove just as valuable for Pat Fenlon's side ahead of the return leg.

In the AirtricityLeague Premier Division, Sligo Rovers sneaked a win against UCD after a last minute winner from Pádraig Amond at the Showgrounds.

Ciaran Kilduff’s goal in the 88th minute looked to have sneaked a point for the students after Amond opened the scoring in the first half but the Rovers striker grabbed another with seconds remaining to move his side four points ahead of the opposition in sixth place.

In the First Division,Cork City Foras Co-op registered a win on the road when they beat Mervue United 4-2.
