Two brothers from the Shankill area of Belfast who demanded money from a building contractor for the Loyalist Prisoners' Association were each jailed for three years yesterday.

Anthony Duff (29), from McCandless Street, and Alan Duff (32), from Tennant Street, were arrested last June when the contractor went to the police. He was then "wired up" and recordings were made of subsequent demands for money. Judge John Curran said it was clear the men were collectors and not enforcers, but the court could not ignore what they had done.
