The Fine Gael leader, Mr John Bruton, has again called on the Provisional IRA to disarm and has criticised the Government for negotiating with Sinn Fein.
Addressing journalists in Edenderry, Co Down, Mr Bruton said it was neither right nor acceptable that Cabinet ministers should sit at a table with members of a political party that was linked to a private army which had refused to disarm and had private means of using violence to achieve its political ends.
