Building workers defy court order

Members of Building Workers Against the Black Economy held a protest picket at a C.&G

Members of Building Workers Against the Black Economy held a protest picket at a C.&G. Crampton site in Thomas Street, Dublin, yesterday. It was part of their campaign of defiance of High Court injunctions obtained by the company in disputes at its sites at Dublin City University and the Belfield Office Park, Clonskeagh.

The protesters are also campaigning against the growth of sub-contracting in the construction industry. They say workers on large sites are being forced to work for sub-contractors outside the PAYE system. They are planning to resume large-scale protests next week.
