A nephew of the murdered gangster Martin Cahill, who was found with more than £5,000 in cash and £300 worth of cocaine in a hotel bedroom, was given a three-month suspended jail sentence in Dublin District Court yesterday.
Gavin Guinan-Cahill (22), of Lissadel Road, Crumlin, denied possession of the drug in a Dublin hotel on April 29th last year. When questioned by a garda about the drug, he replied: "It's coke. It's for my own use."
Judge Gerard Haughton ordered that the three-month sentence be suspended for two years on condition that Guinan-Cahill sign a bond.
