Bogota - A gunman killed one of Colombia's jailed Cali cartel drug lords yesterday shooting seven bullets into his head after embracing him in a prison exercise yard, authorities said.
Police and prison officials said Helmer "El Pacho" Herrera (47), a reputed billionaire and the target of an outstanding US extradition warrant, died almost instantly as his fellow inmates leapt on the gunman and beat him unconscious.
