Arsenal defender Sol Campbell was today fined £20,000 for kicking an opponent during the Community Shield match against Mancheter United in August. The England international did, however, escape suspension.
Campbell was charged with violent behaviour after he retaliated to a high tackle by United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba during the season-opening gala match at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has received a two-match touchline ban and a £3,000-pound fine for improper conduct towards match officials.
Redknapp insulted the referee during Portsmouth's 0-0 draw away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 30th and was sent to the stands following a row with the fourth official Lee Mason.
